Chapter One: What Reiki Is and Where It Comes From

1. What Reiki Is

Reiki is a Japanese word. Rei means universal, spiritual, sacred, or unseen. Ki means life energy, breath, or vital force. Ki is the same as chi, qi, and prana. Reiki means universal life energy. It also names a practice. In a session, a practitioner places hands on or near the body. Hands are still or moved slowly. There is no massage, no pressure, no diagnosis, and no medical advice. The person receiving may feel heat, coolness, tingling, pulsing, or nothing. All are normal. The aim is to support the body's own healing and balance.

Support helps me create the kind of stories that breathe fire, raw, emotional, and unafraid of desire. My goal is to write with honesty, explore the depth of power and surrender, and build a space where readers who crave intensity feel seen. Every bit of support lets me go deeper into the world I’m crafting… and stay committed to telling the truth of these characters.
