
She walked out of the restaurant feeling like she was floating. He had been charming, attentive, and handsome in a way that made the waiter seem invisible. He asked about her job and laughed at her stories. He paid the bill without hesitation and walked her to her car with his hand gently on her back. She drove home already planning the second date, already telling herself a story about who he was. She did not notice that he had not asked a single question about her family.
